Years 1 and 2 Maths:

KS1: We understand that getting the basics right at this level is fundamental to success later on in your children’s school life. Children are encouraged and supported at this level to use a range of mathematical equipment which really helps bring learning to life. There has been a lot of research in this field. We specialise in cultivating a love of maths in your children from a young age by learning through:

– Numicon; an example of it is in this video made by Kin Learning (all rights go to the respective owners),

– Lego
– Play-Doh

Our visual style of teaching helps remove the often abstract and difficult concept of numbers, fractions or shape and space (Geometry). We also use a combination of ICT in the centre, which gives immediate and personalised feedback. We build self-esteem and a love for the subject, which helps children REALLY UNDERSTAND the basics so that not only will they be able to pass their KS1 Maths SATs but they’ll also enjoy doing it.

Whilst every child’s learning needs are different, and attention will be tailored to the areas which require support.
