Whilst 1-to-1 tuition, certainly has its benefits, there are also many benefits to group tuition – from helping your child develop their social skills, to creating an exciting, engaging and interactive classroom environment; all while helping your child to build their confidence! In this article, we look at some of the advantages of group tuition, and how it may help your child to develop their learning further, at an affordable price.

Group tuition can be a great way for students to find out about new study techniques, and discuss content and struggles with their peers. Particularly, around exam time, students often feel very stressed, and having other people to talk to who are going through the same difficulties can really help to build their confidence, and manage those stress levels. Additionally, being able to ask each other questions, as well as consulting their teacher or our team of expert tutors, helps them to review the content, especially outside of class. It can also make studying more enjoyable, and help students to study more often and for longer periods.

Many students also help one another by sharing resources and tips for the exams. When our tutors organise group lessons, we try to create a welcoming and engaging environment, where students are encouraged to put forward their ideas, and help one another. This not only helps with developing social skills, but also enables them to gain confidence, which helps a lot later in life, when it comes to creating presentations, organising meetings and for interviews. We also encourage the students to discuss problems with one another and work together collaboratively. Teamwork is a fundamental skill for the workplace, so enabling your child to develop team working skills and other transferable skills is key to ensuring that they get ahead in life.

We often find that our students, who work together in the classroom, end up becoming long-term friends and offering one another support and encouragement. For students that struggle to concentrate and engage with the material, this can be really useful and motivating. We often also find that group work encourages creativity and helps students to remember the content better, as they will have spent time discussing it and applying it to challenging questions.
