With the new school year starting, we thought we’d share some of our thoughts on how you can ensure that you start the year right! Our expert team of tutors is always available to help you through the year, but there are also some things you can do to get yourself prepared and ready for classes.
- Be organised – ensure that you have all the supplies that you need to stay focused. Making sure you have a school planner to write your assignments in, maths equipment and stationary is key to starting the year well. By handing everything in on time and staying on top of your work and revision, you can ensure that by the time it comes to exams you already know a lot of the content and can focus on practicing exam questions.
- Resources and revision – make sure that you have an idea of when you need to start revising for your mocks and exams throughout the year, it’s important to start preparing early, so that you have plenty of time to ask for help and do practice questions. One part of this is asking your teacher for extra resources and revision material, so that you have everything you need to learn.
- Get into a good routine – you don’t have to be an early bird to do well at school, but however you choose to structure your day, make sure you stick to it! Having a good routine is key to ensuring that you get all your work in on time and get enough downtime so you concentrate better in the classroom. A good routine will also help you when it comes to adding a revision schedule on top, as you will already have a good idea of how much free time you have.
- Find study groups – having others to help you when your motivation is low, a concept is confusing or to help you gather resources is the perfect way to ensure that you stay on top of your work.
- Aim high, but try not to put too much pressure on yourself. It’s always important to try your best when it comes to your studies, to ensure you can have the future that you want. Sometimes though we can be too hard on ourselves, so don’t let one bad mark decrease your confidence, learning is all about improving and don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it.
Our tutors help students to develop, cultivate and grow their knowledge, through providing resources, going through past exam papers and nurturing confidence we will always ensure that our pupils do the best that they can on every level.
